Magic at the end of the pen...
18 September, 2020

On the 26th of February we celebrated birthday of Aleksey Victorovich Vorobievskiy (1906-1992), one of the most famous and talented artists at Lomonosov porcelain factory.

He started his work to the porcelain factory when he was a 19-year-old and within two years his porcelain masterpieces  were exhibited  in major international exhibitions in Milano, Paris, New York, Brussels and Montreal.

During his work at the factory Vorobyevskiy came up with more than 1500 different patterns which captured magic of true art of hand-painting on snow white porcelain. Main subject in his painting were: spring, winter, fancy scenes, arabesque floral ornaments, Ancient Russian folk architecture and folk motives.

Art should convey beauty and positive feelings, this was main creative philosophy of Vorobyevskiy which he devotedly followed all his life. His delicate painting style would start with fine feather sharp pen lines of the general contour of the picture and then he would use a pen or the finest brush to fill up contours with multi-colored paints as if it were a mosaics panel.
