Description
Ulyana Lopatkina as Nikiya, the temple dancer in La Bayadère, a role she danced at the Mariinsky Theatre. The sculpture was created by Anatoly Danilov for the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St Petersburg.
It is made in white biscuit: hard porcelain left unglazed, with a matte surface that shows the line of the pose. Lopatkina joined the Mariinsky in 1991, became a principal dancer in 1995 and left the stage in 2017. A collector's piece for ballet lovers.
