Description
A three-piece bone china set inspired by Spartacus, Aram Khachaturian's ballet that premiered in Leningrad in 1956: a 165 ml (5.6 fl oz) cup, its saucer and a 150 mm (5.9") cake plate. Made on the May shape at the Imperial Porcelain Factory in St Petersburg.
The painting recalls the costumes of Yuri Grigorovich's 1968 Bolshoi production. Painted by hand and finished with 22-karat gold; hand washing is recommended.
