A coffee set from the Russian Writers collection is dedicated to Mikhail Yurievich Lermontov. The composition on the porcelain is designed in such a way as to demonstrate different aspects of his life. One side is a military career. Sergei Sokolov placed a silhouette image of Lermontov on porcelain, based on the graphics of Elizaveta Kruglikova. That, in turn, was made based on the famous portrait of Lermontov in 1837 in the ment of the Life Guards Hussar Regiment.

The other side is Lermontov the writer, who left an extensive creative legacy. On the cup you can see the silhouettes of Pechorin and Mary against the backdrop of the Caucasus mountains - these are the writer’s own sketches, with minor changes, for the novel “A Hero of Our Time.” On the saucer, Sergei Sokolov placed lines familiar to everyone from childhood - a fragment of the poem “Sail”, where Lermontov discusses the topic of loneliness, search, and the mystery of the human soul.
